MOKA BIALETTI

La "Caffettiera", "Macchinetta del Caffè" or "Moka" (Espresso Machine) was Invented in 1933 by Alfonso Bialetti.  Before this time, you could have an espresso just in an Italian Bar. Then the magic happened! Everyone was able to reproduce Espresso at home.

Don't worry! Despite the appearance, Moka is very easy to use. It is made of three main components: 1. Il Bollitore (boiler) 2. L'"imbuto filtro" (funnel-shaped filter) 3. Il "Bricco" (Container).

We will show you how to use it below. But just to let you know, the flavor of Moka pot coffee depends greatly on bean variety, roast level, fineness of grind, water profile, and the level of heat used.

ITALIAN GROUND COFFEE

In Italy, one of the most famous coffee is Lavazza. Why? Well, in 1895 Luigi Lavazza bought a small grocery in Turin. Shortly Lavazza coffee become really famous in the city thanks to the distinctive taste his coffee had, due to a secret recipe. In fact, Luigi had a brilliant intuition. He started the art of combining different types of coffee from different geographical area, something nobody did before. The Lavazza coffee we drink today is the result of this idea. These coffees are harvested, processed, mixed and roasted to create many different and balanced blends and satisfy the taste of everyone of us.

HOW TO

1. Il "bollitore" o "caldaia" (boiler)

Fill with water up to the safety release valve. (Actually before the valve if you want to avoid a watery caffè).

2. L' "Imbuto-filtro" (funnel-shaped metal filter)

Insert it in the boiler. Then, with a spoon, fill with coffee and create a slight mountain. Don't press with the spoon.

3. Il "Bricco" (Upper part or container)

The upper part is tightly screwed onto the base. This is the container where the espresso will flow.
